The Yobe State Government has pledged its unwavering commitment to ensuring only the most qualified candidates are recruited in the ongoing Nigerian Army 88 Regular Recruit intake exercise.
Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdul-Salam (Rtd), Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, made this assurance during his inspection of the recruitment screening at the 241 Recce Model Battalion in Nguru on Monday, December 16, 2024.
He emphasized the state’s dedication to integrity, urging candidates to avoid offering bribes for placement. “The military is a reputable institution that thrives on merit, and we will not tolerate any compromise in the recruitment process,” he declared.
Adamu Baba Umar, Director of Recruitment Services at the Governor’s Office, lauded the recruitment committee for their diligence, describing the exercise as transparent and efficient.
This renewed focus on merit, officials say, reflects the state’s ambition to contribute highly skilled and disciplined personnel to the Nigerian Army, reinforcing its commitment to national security.
