The Honorable Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, began a landmark 3-day working visit to Lagos State with a courtesy call on Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, and senior ministry officials, Dangiwa’s visit signals a renewed focus on cooperation between the Federal Government and Lagos State.
During the high-level meeting, both leaders pledged to resolve long-standing land-related disputes that have strained relations between the two entities. To achieve this, they announced the formation of a Technical Committee tasked with devising pragmatic and mutually beneficial solutions.
“The Federal Government and Lagos State are partners in development,” Arc. Dangiwa stated. “This is the moment to resolve these concerns collaboratively and improve lives. We must strengthen our partnership for the benefit of Lagosians.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Dangiwa’s transparent approach, calling him “a round peg in a round hole.” He expressed optimism that their joint efforts would deliver a win-win outcome, particularly through initiatives like the 2,000-unit Renewed Hope City in Ibeju-Lekki.
This visit reflects a shared vision of fostering sustainable urban development and enhancing the quality of life for Lagosians, setting the stage for greater federal-state collaboration in housing and land administration.
