In a decisive operation against criminal elements, troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have destroyed multiple bandit camps and recovered arms, ammunition, and a vehicle during a clearance mission spanning Benue and Taraba States.

Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Capt. Olubodunde Oni, revealed in a statement on Sunday that the operation, code-named “Operation Golden Peace,” targeted bandit hideouts in Akahagu and China villages in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. The raid extended to Ikayor village, where troops stormed a camp linked to the notorious bandit leader Akiki Utiv, infamously known as “Full Fire.”
