Kano Rural Dev Engage Stakeholders on Open Defection

Kano State Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Abbas Sani Abbas has called on people in the state to desist from open defection in view of its health implications.

Alh Abbas Sani Abbas made the call at the opening of a two day Workshop held at the School for Management Studies, Kano.

The Commissioner therefore advised people to make the best use of the public toilets constructed by the government across the state.

The Commissioner who represented by the Director Rural and Community Development, Alh Isma’la Bello said Kano State Government under the leadership of Engr Abba kabir organized the workshop comprising different associations, Ulama, Student unions, staff of the Ministry for Rural and the Central Working Committee on Commminy Development Associations from the 44 local Government areas in the state.

He assured of the state government continued support and cooperation to eradicate the habit of open deafacation.

Earlier, one of the Consultants of the seminar, Dr Zakari Uba thanked the state government and the ministry for Rural and Community Development for conducting the seminar.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Hajiya Fatima Adamu represented by the Director administration and general services in the Ministry, Alh Adamu Bashir Baba called on the participants to make the best use of what they have lernt during the seminar.

One of the participants, Alh Ibrahim Garba kofar Naisa who is also the Chairman Kano State Central Working Committee on Community Development Associations thanked the state government and ministry for rural for the conduct of the seminar which he said would assist towards improving their activities.
