Mai Kaltungo Recieve award as Peace Builder from Anglican Communion

His Royal Highness, Engineer Saleh Muhammad Umar, OON, the *Mai Kaltungo* Who was double as the Deputy Chairman of the Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs, received the leadership of the Nigeria Anglican Communion Diocese Church on a courtesy visit.

The delegation, led by the Most Rev’d Dr. Henry C. Ndukuba, Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), honored the revered traditional leader with an award recognizing his accommodating spirit and peace-building efforts in Kaltungo Chiefdom and across Gombe State.

During the ceremony held at the Mai Kaltungo’s palace, the Anglican Church commended the Mai Kaltungo for fostering harmony and promoting peaceful coexistence within his domain.

The Primate of the Anglican Church, Most Rev’d Dr. Ndukuba, praised the royal father for his exemplary leadership, stating, “We are here to present this award of honor to His Royal Highness for his tireless contributions to peacebuilding in Kaltungo, Gombe State, and Nigeria at large.”

In his acceptance speech, the *Mai Kaltungo* expressed gratitude to the Anglican Communion for the recognition and applauded the church for its developmental efforts in Kaltungo, particularly the establishment of the Walter Miller College of Nursing, which has become a beacon of educational excellence in the region.

“This award is not just for me but for the entire people of Kaltungo, Gombe State, and Nigeria. I remain committed to upholding the values of peace and unity,” he said.

The Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government Area, Mr. Iliya Sulaiman, also expressed appreciation to the Anglican Church for consistently prioritizing the welfare and development of the Kaltungo community.

“This award underscores the enduring partnership between the Anglican Church and the people of Kaltungo.

”It is a symbol of unity and shared commitment to progress.”

The event was enlivened by vibrant cultural displays from the Laku Cultural Dance Troupe, the Tantabara Group, and the *Masu Busan Maikaltungo*, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kaltungo.

Their performances added a festive ambiance to the occasion, leaving guests captivated by the colorful display of tradition and artistry.

The award ceremony not only highlighted the *Mai Kaltungo ’s pivotal role in fostering peace but also strengthened the bond between the Anglican Communion and the Kaltungo community.
