Kano Pledges Tech Revolution: CBT, ICT Centres for All LGAs

Kano State is gearing up for a technological leap, as the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation announces plans to establish Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centres in all 44 local government areas.

This bold initiative was unveiled during the 2024 Science and Technology Week, themed “Global Science with Global Wellbeing,” held at the Coronation Hall, Government House.

Commissioner Alhaji Mohammed Tajo Othman revealed a pilot project will kick off this year, with future plans to develop ICT and industrial parks in urban centers. “These projects will not only drive innovation but also reduce rural-urban migration,” he stated.

Aligned with these efforts, the ministry is integrating STEM education into schools to nurture future innovators and collaborating with stakeholders to build a tech-savvy Kano.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s support underscores the state’s commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation for societal progress.
