Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has expressed profound sadness and a deep sense of loss over the passing away of one of Bauchi’s most respected Islamic scholars, Sheikh Ibrahim Idris, the Chief Imam of Gwallaga Mosque in Bauchi metropolis.
The Governor noted that late Imam Ibrahim Idris invaluable contributions to the advancement of Islam and his selfless dedication to the betterment of society will be remembered for generations to come.
Senator Bala Mohammed, while offering his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Chief Imam, his students, and the entire Muslim Ummah, commended the late scholar’s unwavering commitment to the propagation of Islamic teachings, peace, and unity.
“Through his exemplary life, Sheikh Ibrahim Idris has enriched our community with his wisdom, compassion, and commitment to the values that Islam stands for”, the governor said.
He further highlighted that the late scholar was not only a beacon of religious knowledge, but also an advocate for social justice and peace, saying his teachings inspired countless individuals and served as a guiding light for both young and old across Bauchi state and beyond.
Governor Bala described the late scholar as a modest, humble, and God-fearing individual whose legacy will continue to inspire all those who seek knowledge and understanding in the path of Islam.
“Today , we mourn the loss of a revered Islamic cleric , a devout scholar , and a leader in Islamic Jurisprudence, who dedicated his life to the service of Islam and humanity “ the Governor added.
Mohammed prayed that Allah (SWT) grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his family, students, leadership and Members of Jamaatul Izalatul Bid’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah and the entire Muslim community the strength to bear this great loss.
The Governor also called upon all Islamic faithful to honor late Idris’s memory by upholding the principles he taught and living lives of piety, humility, and service to others, as he prayed the gentle soul of the deceased rest in eternal peace.
