NNPP Takeover: Aniebonam Blasts Kwankwaso Allies as ‘Job-Seekers’

In a heated press conference today at NNPP’s headquarters in Lagos, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, Founder and Life Member of the NNPP Board of Trustees (BoT), addressed recent developments following a landmark Abia State High Court ruling.

The court decision, which transferred control of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) from Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s faction to the BoT, has sparked fierce responses from Kwankwaso’s allies.

Dr. Aniebonam criticized “unemployed characters” around Kwankwaso, alleging they cling to the former presidential candidate for personal gain rather than party loyalty.

He particularly singled out Kwankwaso’s spokesperson, Barr. Ladipo Johnson, who has publicly challenged the court’s verdict.

Aniebonam dismissed Johnson’s statements as misguided and disrespectful to the judiciary, hinting at possible contempt of court actions if provocations persist.

Reflecting on past generosity, Dr. Aniebonam recalled how Kwankwaso and his allies sought his support ahead of the 2023 elections and how he opened doors to them without expecting financial returns.

With the BoT now legally recognized as the party’s decision-making body, Aniebonam called on loyal members to unite under its leadership, urging Kwankwaso and his faction to respect the law or pursue an appeal if necessary.

The BoT has scheduled a meeting on November 8 to establish a new path forward, solidifying its authority.

Dr. Aniebonam’s closing words invited all elected NNPP officials to “come to Lagos and take your party,” vowing to protect the party’s integrity and promising victory through lawful means.
