The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, led the official launch of an immunization campaign against polio disease in Babbangiji ward, at the residence of Malam Kabiru Wanzan.
The chairman pledged to eliminate the disease across the entire local government area as part of ongoing efforts to protect public health and improve the quality of life for residents.
Hon. Ahmed Sekure emphasized his administration’s commitment to eradicating this harmful disease.
He stated that every possible effort will be made to achieve the goal of a shanninah-free community, noting that immunization is the most effective method to prevent the spread of the disease.
He assured the public that comprehensive preparations have been made to ensure that every newborn and child under the age of five receives the vaccine, leaving no child unprotected throughout the campaign.
The Head of Health Services for the area, Hajiya Saratu Ibrahim, along with the District Head’s representative, Jamilu Wada, called on the public to cooperate to ensure the campaign’s success.
They stressed that community participation is essential for a lasting impact and urged residents to support the initiative.
The Health Education Alh Musa Abdullahi shamakawa and the immunization program manager Mallam kamilu Muhammad expressed gratitude to all health workers, local leaders, ward heads, and other stakeholders for their dedication to raising awareness and mobilizing the public in support of the immunization campaign.
