As Nigeria marks 65 years of nationhood, the Federal Government has appealed to citizens to remain steadfast and patient with the ongoing reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, assuring that the current sacrifices will pave the way for sustainable growth.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, made the appeal during an inter-denominational church service held at the National Ecumenical Christian Centre, Abuja.
Acknowledging the tough times many Nigerians are facing, Akume emphasized that the reforms were carefully designed to reposition the country’s economy and strengthen key sectors such as food security, healthcare, education, employment, and infrastructure.
He noted that governance thrives on collective effort, urging Nigerians to support government policies with a spirit of unity and optimism for the nation’s future.
In the same vein, Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, in his Independence Day goodwill message, called for justice, equity, peace, and national unity, stressing that these values remain the foundation of true development and progress.
