Senator Shehu Sani Slams Trump’s ‘Toxic’ Claims Against South Africa on G20 Row

Borno State Government

Senator Shehu Sani took to X (formerly Twitter) today to critique what he called President Trump’s “toxic utterances” targeting South Africa.

In his post, Sani dismissed Trump’s claims of ‘slaughter’ or ‘genocide’ against white South Africans as false, misleading, and fictitious, questioning the rationale behind using these allegations to justify boycotts of the G20 summit.

The senator further challenged the perceived double standards in global politics, asking, “Why should the world hate Putin for invading eastern Ukraine to protect ethnic Russians in Donbas?”

Sani’s remarks have ignited debate over racialized rhetoric, international hypocrisy, and the role of political narratives in shaping global diplomacy.
