The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old suspected serial vandal, God’stime Emmanuel James, in a late-night raid that disrupted criminal activity in Midim Water Side community.
The arrest, which took place around 9:30 p.m. on August 18, followed credible intelligence that led operatives straight to the hideout of James, who had allegedly fled the community after multiple incidents of vandalism targeting school buildings and private homes.
According to police reports, James was sighted with a group of accomplices but was the only one captured as others escaped into a nearby creek upon seeing the patrol vehicle.
Recovered items included a handbag filled with dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, four door handles, a mini flashlight, and several broken door lock parts—believed to be loot from his previous criminal acts.
Police spokesperson, DSP Timfon John, confirmed that James is now in custody and urged residents who have recently fallen victim to vandalism to step forward and assist investigators.
Authorities assured that the suspect will be prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
