22 Busted Police Arrest Foreign Nationals Without Papers in Nasarawa

In a decisive operation, the Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested 22 foreign nationals in New Karu Local Government Area for allegedly residing in Nigeria without valid immigration documents.

According to intelligence sources who spoke to Zagazola Makama, the arrest followed a tip-off received by the Area Commander of New Karu. Acting swiftly, officers stormed a three-bedroom flat at Ibro Block, New Karu, around 1:00 p.m. on April 10, 2025.

The suspects—14 men and 8 women—are between the ages of 20 and 45 and hail from Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Senegal. Among them are Amidu Dau (23), Youssouf Diarra (28), Amadou Ba (27), Samba Gadyaga (20), and Oumarou Bari (45), all from Mali, and several others from Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire, including Fatoumaya Ouedraga (20) and Dao Samassi (26).

Preliminary investigations revealed that none of the suspects possessed valid travel or residency papers.

Police say all suspects are undergoing further investigation, and appropriate actions will follow in collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service.
