On the calls from parts of the state for him to aspire for the Bauchi governorship seat in 2027, Senator Shehu Buba said, “The time has not yet come to heed to the calls. I’m now on the mandate of senatorial representation for a period of four years from which I exhaust only one and a half year, so it’s immature to say anything now in this regard”.

“So let me assure that Iam presently sleeplessly keeping to my mandate of legislative duties while diligently serving the people in terms of provision of basic necessities of life”. The time is not ripe for campaigns into elective offices, it’s time for postering my mandate for the benefits of the electorates, especially in the Bauchi south senatorial district of the state”.

“My mandate is now of a senator representing the Bauchi south senatorial district, so I will only answer in affirmative or not at the tail end of the senatorial ship tenure, and even then it’s only when we are alive, as all it’s God’s time, not ours”.

Buba added, “But mind you I’m representing the three senatorial districts of Bauchi, having the south seat as the only one won by my party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), so I extent my hands of fellowship or comradeship to the APC electorates in the Central and North senatorial districts of the state “.

The Senator said however that, “It is obvious you cannot stop people from expressing their personal opinions as enshrined in section 36 subsection (5) of the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), so it is a matter of time which dictates events and equally judges everything for us to solemnly rely”.

While flagging-off the construction of the 2.3 kilometers Zaranda township road, estimated to cost about N850 million, the Senator assured that the road project would be completed in four week’s time for commissioning, recalling that he promised Zaranda people the construction of the road sometimes in 2023 during his electioneering campaigns.

“Today marks a significant watershed in our four-year journey of our representation of the Bauchi south senatorial district in the red-carpet chamber of the National Assembly. You will recall that during my electioneering campaigns at the time of aspiring to become your senator in 2023, I pledged to relentlessly pursue meaningful and life changing projects”.

“In terms of infrastructural development, aside from the numerous welfare support programmes we have embarked upon since my assumption of office in June 2023, it is my firm commitment to provide similar developmental strides in every part of Bauchi south senatorial district during the term of my effective representation”.

“On your part, I require your usual prayers and cooperation without which my intention would not be achieved. “As I said the road construction is the tip of the iceberg, I have a lined up projects of 70 hand-pumps water supply schemes to be constructed in various parts of the Bauchi south district, in addition to 15 solar boreholes, about 200 solar electrification projects,”

“I also have different types of empowerment for youths and women, and other vulnerable members of the society. I also have in the pipeline, renovation of schools, renovation and building of new health facilities, all of which are embodied in my 2024 constituency projects already approved by the National Assembly”.
