
The Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari has attributed the relative peace enjoyed in the state largely “to the dedication, professional competence, and discipline of our brothers and sisters serving in the military and other sister security agencies.”
The Katsina Governor made the remark while addressing members of the armed forces and other personalities who graced the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration held at the Public Square of the the Government House on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Masari noted that the relationship between the military and the Katsina people has remained cordial. He appealed to them to keep up the good work.
The state Governor expressed “profound appreciation on behalf of his government and the people of the state to members of the Nigeria Armed Forces and other sister agencies for their untiring sacrifice towards securing lives and properties of citizens in the state.”
He assured members of the armed forces in the state that
his government will continue to do the needful by providing all the needed “support for the military and other security agencies in the state in order to ensure that Katsina regain its rightful place in the committee of states as a peaceful, accommodating and progressive State in the federation.”
The Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration is organized annually to honour members of Nigerian Armed Forces who fought in various military operations and laid down their lives in the service of Nigeria and humanity in general.
Since inception of the Nigerian Military, soldiers, sailors and airmen have fought gallantly and with distinction in
the Nigerian Civil war, embarked on various peace support operations across the world.
