The Borno State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Yusufu Mohammed Lawal, has recorded a breakthrough in its crackdown on drug-related crimes.
Acting on credible intelligence, the Command’s Anti-Vice Squad apprehended 22-year-old Kabura Kayuram of Jajeri Ward, Maiduguri. The suspect was found in possession of 116 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp during the operation conducted at approximately 11:30 am.
The suspect and the seized items have been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
Reiterating its commitment to community-centred policing, the Command called on parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s activities.
