…IGP Egbetokun Urges New Officers to Uphold Honour, Diligence, and Patriotism
The Nigeria Police Force has celebrated another milestone in its ongoing drive to boost national security, as 10,000 newly recruited Constables successfully passed out from various Police Colleges and Training Institutions across the country on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
The Passing Out Parade, held simultaneously in all designated training centers, marks a major stride in the Force’s efforts to strengthen manpower and enhance operational efficiency in line with global policing standards.
In his address to the new officers, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, commended their resilience, discipline, and commitment during the intensive training period. He charged them to remain shining examples of integrity and patriotism in the service of the nation.
“Carry with you the values of honour, diligence, and patriotism that have been instilled in you throughout your training. You are now ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force—serve with pride, fairness, and respect for the rights of all citizens,” the IGP urged.
Throughout their training, the recruits were exposed to courses on modern policing, community engagement, intelligence-driven operations, and respect for human rights. They also received practical field experience to prepare them for the complex realities of law enforcement in contemporary Nigeria.
The passing out of this batch of constables follows a similar exercise in January 2025, bringing the total number of newly trained officers this year to 20,000 — part of the Force’s strategic manpower development plan under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
IGP Egbetokun reaffirmed his commitment to continuous professional training, welfare enhancement, and institutional reforms aimed at building a modern, efficient, and citizen-friendly Police Force.
“Our goal is to sustain the gains of reform and modernization, ensuring a safer and more secure Nigeria for all,” he added.
