The Katsina State Ministry for Local Government and Emirate Affairs has coordinated and transparently monitored as well as supervised the distribution of Hospital Equipments jointly procured by the LGAs to equip the rehabilitated/renovated PHCs across the 34 LGAs of the state.
This is an unwavering commitment of the state government and local government councils towards ensuring equitable and good health services to people in the rural areas across the state.
The effort testified the Ministry’s commitment on the proper monitoring and supervision of Local government Councils activities which indeed add more value to the local government transformational mission of the State Government beside the autonomy given to the local councils.
The hospital equipments this time around were distributed to the ten Primary Healthcare Centres across five local government areas under Kankia Zonal Centre of the Ministry.
The benefitting PHCs include PHC Fadar Danzara and PHC Kunduru in Kankia LGA, PHC Kofa and PHC Kai-Kai in Kusada LGA.
Others were PHC Ganjuwa and PHC Dukuma in Ingawa LGA, PHC Kurkujan and PHC Danjanku in Musawa LGA and PHC Dissi and PHC Rinjin Idi in Matazu LGA.
The Ministry however assigned its Directors to lead the conveyance of the equipments and to ensure proper monitoring and supervision of the distribution process up to the official handing over of the Equipments between respective Storekeepers of LGAs and In-Charge of the benefitting PHCs.
The assigned officials include Director of Inspection Alhaji Ibrahim Wali Umar
to Kofa and Kai-Kai PHCs in Kusada LGA, DAS Alhaji Bello Isah Fago to Dissi and Rinjin Idi PHCs in Matazu LGA and Director Works Engineer Umar Faroukh Abdullahi to Ganjuwa and Dukuma PHCs in Ingawa LGA.
Others are Director Common Services Alhaji Nasir Ibrahim Yar’adua to Fadar Danzara and Kunduru PHCs in Kankia LGA and Director Budget Alhaji Babangida Aminu to Kurkujan and Danjanku PHCs in Musawa LGA.
During the distribution and handling over the equipments, the Commissioner of the Ministry Hon. Bishir Tanimu Gambo and the Special Adviser LG Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana through the assigned Directors charged respective In-Charge of the 10 benefitting PHCs that the Equipments were not meant for storage, but be placed in its proper position for onward utilisation.
Village Heads of the benefitting communities in the five LGAs separately registered their appreciation and thanked the State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Raddav and the MLGEA for commitment put in place promoting healthcare services to the common man.
At all the 10 respective benefitting Health Facilities, Officials of the Ministry, PHC Coordinators, representatives of the respective Local Councils Chairmen, CDC, Councillors and representatives of Traditional Institutions witnessed the handing over of the equipments.
