₦200 Dispute: Woman Stabs Barman to Death in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old woman, Riyanatu Musa, for allegedly stabbing a barman, Yohanna Musa, to death during a heated argument over an unpaid balance of ₦200.

The incident, which occurred on January 7, 2025, in Mubi South Local Government Area, has sent shockwaves through the community. According to police reports, Riyanatu, a sex worker, confessed to borrowing liquor known locally as “Big Benz and Yahoo” from the deceased.

She paid ₦1,500 out of the ₦1,700 owed but failed to settle the remaining ₦200, leading to a fight that tragically ended with Yohanna being fatally stabbed in the chest.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), condemned the act, describing it as a tragic outcome of unresolved conflict. He has directed a discreet investigation into the matter and warned the public against taking laws into their own hands.

Police Spokesperson SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje reiterated the command’s commitment to justice and called on the public to cooperate by providing relevant information.
